Comox Valley Preschool

Inglis Early Learning & Preschool

We are pleased to offer the Comox Valley a balanced, full year preschool/group childcare program that fosters all areas of child development. With a blend of both structured and unstructured daily activities, our program specializes in educational preparedness, social development, nature & theme based exploration and community involvement.

Come learn with us!

Situated in the heart of Comox (the old Saint Joseph’s Hospital), our early learning facility has the luxury of a large outside play area, ocean view, direct access to the beach and a peaceful garden.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to build a sense of community with a neighboring senior’s village (The Views). Our goal is to provide a safe, engaging and nurturing environment that will foster positive emotional, social, cognitive and physical development. We facilitate a program that is flexible in order to accommodate the needs and interests of the children in care.

A peek into our day at Inglis Preschool

We believe that learning should be fun and rewarding for all of our little learners. We use a play-based learning approach to introduce early literacy, numeracy and other areas of academics. Performing & fine arts are also an important part of our program, and we enjoy singing songs, theatrics, dancing and exploring instruments. Unstructured playtime, both indoors and outside in nature, gives our learners an opportunity to further develop positive social interactions with peers.

Our preschool/group childcare program includes both morning (8 am -11:30 am) or full day options (8:00 am - 3:30 pm) from Monday to Friday.

Our Classrooms…

We take pride in offering students a calm and engaging learning environment with small and specialized groups working under a universal program. Our class sizes reach a maximum of 10 kids during morning sessions and 8 kids during afternoon sessions. These groups are broken down into the following:

Primary Class

This class welcomes our new and youngest learners with extra guidance and nurture. Ranging from 2.5 to 4 years in age, we thrive to make this first step into the school environment a very positive one filled with friendships and fun. With a team teaching approach, this class will follow a balanced program that equally reinforces all areas of child development.

(20 students: 2 teachers 8:00-11:30 / 16 students: 2 teachers 12:00-3:30)

Senior Class

While still fostering all of the social, emotional and developmental elements of the primary program, these groups are designed for learners ages 4 to 5 and focus on kindergarten readiness.

(Each classroom will have 10 students: 1 teacher 8:00-11:30 / 8 students:1 teacher 12:00-3:30)
