- If monthly tuition is still not paid two weeks after the first of the month then scheduled sessions will be suspended until payment is received.
- There will be a $25.00 fee for N.S.F. cheques.
2. ATTENDANCE
To see the best results it is important to make the utmost effort to attend all scheduled sessions. However, it is to be expected that unavoidable circumstances may arise on occasion. If a scheduled session cannot be made please review the following guidelines:
- All missed sessions are not refundable.
- In the case of a missed session please provide the teacher or administration with 48 hour notice or more prior to the absence and a rescheduled session will be arranged at no charge. If only short notice is provided (under 48 hours) there will be a $10.00 fee for rescheduling the session. Rescheduled sessions are strongly encouraged.
- If a rescheduled session is missed parents will still be charged a $10.00 fee. (If fee is applicable) and will not have a third opportunity to reschedule for the original session.
- Rescheduled sessions must be made within 30 days following the missed session.
3. PARENTS AND TEACHERS
- Parents are expected to drop off and pick up child on time. The waiting area will not be supervised as teachers will most likely be in session with other children.
- If parents wish to inquire about child's progress it would be best to do so during child's allotted time. E-mailing the teacher directly will allow for a more thorough discussion.
- Teachers are expected to be punctual and professional.
4. INITIAL/ONGOING ASSESSMENT
- To enroll in an individualized literacy or mathematics program it is required for the child to take an initial academic test (Canadian Achievement Test - CAT3). This will give parents and teachers a clear understanding of the child's background knowledge and grade level they are working at. (This often will not be the actual grade level that they're enrolled in at school) Teachers will follow a curriculum based on the test results to ensure that the child is working at his/her level and progressing forward.
- To ensure consistent communication between parents and teachers progress reports will be sent home after every 20 completed hours of tutoring.
- After every 40 hours of completed tutoring time children who are enrolled in an individualized program will be reassessed using the CAT3. (There will be no additional fees for this assessment as it will fall under scheduled tutoring time) This will give parents a clear understanding regarding their child's progress. A re-assessment report will be sent home to exhibit the results.
