About Inglis Professional Tutoring...

Educating your children isn't always as simple as sending them off to school in the morning with a balanced lunch and a kiss on the cheek. Classroom and school dynamics are often filled with a multitude of variables that may not cater to every child's academic, social, or emotional needs. Inglis Professional Tutoring employs certified teachers who can recognize different learning styles and possible barriers that your children may be experiencing at school. Our Comox Valley tutoring facility offers individualized learning programs that are specially designed to provide educational material that is both at your child's level and complimentary to their personal style of learning. At Inglis Professional Tutoring, we believe that learning can be fun and that with confidence children will naturally develop their own vision.

As a teacher working in the district I quickly recognized the abundance of students who were struggling to make it through their grade level. It became clear to me that many students need individualized assistance in acquiring their basic foundation of academic skills. This was my inspiration for Inglis Professional Tutoring. I have now established a facility and designed a curriculum that fosters the idea of individual growth. Every child has a unique style of learning. It is my responsibility to produce for these children learning materials and environmental conditions that are necessary for their academic success. As an individual who had once experienced my fair share of challenges through elementary and secondary school I know firsthand that every child has the ability to feel their own sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. It is my life-long goal to help children find their own vision. It is with this vision that children develop a love for learning.

My most cherished moments in my teaching career have been when I've helped students to experience success in education. Active learning takes place when a student realizes their unique style of understanding and is able to build upon previous skills and knowledge. When children experience success, it not only increases their self-esteem, but also gives them the confidence and motivation to set and achieve academic goals. Above all, their success leads to developing a love for learning and a capacity for self-evaluation and creative expression. I believe this is the true essence of education.
